Ten Years Later
I've been blogging, under various guises, for well over ten years (I know, I know, I don't look old enough! Hmmm...) So much has changed in that time.
Today's content consumer has to sift through an overwhelming amount of information to find what they want.
Consequently, today's content producer needs to ensure their work is easy to find, and once found, easy to consume.
Readers skim and scan blog posts. That's why short videos and visual elements in blog posts (such as the infographic below) are so popular. You need to ensure your content accommodates this behaviour.

Winking at Girls in the Dark
Your content also has to be easy to share on social platforms. If it is not, you run the risk of it's unlikely to be seen.
This reminds me of a great quote by Steuart Henderson Britt:
Doing business without advertising is like winking at a girl in the dark. You know what you are doing but nobody else does.
Social sharing is your marketing.
Eight Things to Check Before Publishing a Blog Post
With this in mind, I have produced an infographic recommending eight things you should check before hitting the publish button on your blog post.
Please feel free to share this infographic on social media, or on your own blog using the code below it. While you are at it, go ahead and download my free blog workflow checklist by clicking this massive pink button...

P.S. Despite the fact that I have checked this blog post and infographic approximately one million times, due to the nature of the content, there is bound to be a typo in here somewhere! Please leave me a comment pointing out the error and we can giggle about it together :-)
