The Serenity Prayer

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Thank you to my email newsletter reader, Ken, for reminding me of these timeless words.

The serenity prayer traditionally begins with “God”, but I think it holds wisdom for everyone, regardless of faith or belief.

It’s a simple yet powerful reminder to pause, reflect, and focus our energy on what we can change. When faced with challenges, it’s easy to feel stuck trying to control the uncontrollable. Shifting our focus—even to small, actionable steps—can bring clarity and peace of mind.

So, here’s your nudge for today: What’s one thing within your control that you can focus on?
