54321 Grounding Technique
If you're feeling overwhelmed, try this quick grounding exercise to bring you back into the present:
ð 5 things you can see
ðĪ 4 things you can touch
ð 3 things you can hear
ð 2 things you can smell
ð 1 thing you can taste
I like this technique because you can do it all in your headâno one needs to know. And if you get the steps mixed up (e.g. 5 things you can hear), itâs no big dealâĶ though 5 things you can taste might be trickier!
