Task Management Funnel
I use Todoist daily—it’s a brilliant tool for managing tasks and projects. But even the best tools need a system behind them to support your best work.
Here’s the system I use to stay organised and focused:
Capture: I capture everything in Todoist as soon as it comes up. No relying on memory.
Organise: My Todoist is structured into life zones (work, business, and personal). Under those, inspired by PARA, I have projects (with a clear end date) and areas (ongoing).
Prioritise: I use do dates (when I’ll work on a task), due dates (deadlines), and flag my most important tasks. Daily prioritisation is key.
Focus: Once I’ve prioritised, I decide when to focus on completing tasks—this often involves blocking time on my calendar.
Todoist makes it easy to set up an approach like this.
