The Physiological Sigh: A Simple Way to Reset

When stress builds up, your body has a natural way to bring things back into balance. The physiological sigh is a simple breathing technique that helps regulate the nervous system. It’s quick, discreet, and backed by science.

To try it, follow these steps:

  1. Take a deep breath in through your nose.

  2. Take a short breath through your nose so your lungs are full.

  3. Slowly exhale through your mouth until your lungs are empty.

This technique works by increasing oxygen levels and activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps you feel calmer. It’s a tool you can use in moments of stress and can be done anywhere.

Try it out and notice how you feel afterward. You might have to repeat the exercise a few times to experience a shift in your energy and stress levels.
